Environmental Protection Agency

Much of the credit for curbing on greenhouse gases, awareness about global warming and global dimming should go to EPA. The EPA stands for Environmental Protection Agency (United States). The role of EPA is to lead in activities related to environmental science, environmental education and research work focused on balancing ecosystem. The agency is focused on doing everything in protecting environment and guarding public health. The headquarter office of EPA is is in national capitol, Washington D.C and has several branch offices in every state. EPA has on payroll thousands of trained and skilled people working on environmental researched project.

In 1970, EPA came in picture after public demanded cleaner air, water and environment. This was first step by then government to create government agency to look after environmental needs. The new agency had job cut for them. The industrial revolution in 19th and 20th century has done much of damage to environment. The job was to repair and damage wherever possible to safeguard environment and public health.

In last 30 years EPA has done commendable job in protecting environment, creating strict regulations for carbon emission and other pollution guidelines. The strict guideline has helped citiues across to see pollution go down and has raised level of hygiene facilities in cities.
